Labour pains, stabbings, rolling blackouts among incidents reported in Gauteng during matric exams


Gauteng education MEC Matome Chiloane held a media briefing at Parktown Boys High School to give an update on exams and the progress of the 2023 online admissions pupil placements.

The Gauteng Department of Education is confident it will finish the examination period without hindrance in the next 10 days.This despite incidents including load shedding, stabbings and pupils falling ill during the examination period.The department says those who have received offers of placement and have not accepted will be auto-placed on 30 November.
